A Christmas Poinsettia For The Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Home for the Holidays”. We really hope that you enjoy and are inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My Home For The Holidays project is a card with the lovely Poinsettia Petals bundle. This set and dies were featured last year in the holiday catalog and I was so glad it carried over to the annual catalog this year.
I made my card with the standard A2 shape/size but just cut the top off a little to reveal the sentiment from the inside. I got the idea from Debbie over at stampsnstuff.org  I cut the base in Cherry Cobbler card stock 4 1/4" by 11" then scored at 5 1/2" like always but then cut 1 1/4" off the top flap. For the outside flap, I cut a piece of Old Olive card stock in a 4" square. I also cut a white piece in 3 7/8" square. I ran a piece of the gold ribbon around bedore attaching. I cut and embossed at same time the poinsettias in Cherry Cobbler card stock in three sizes to layer with the Poinsettia dies. I also used the dies to cut the center in gold foil along with the fillers. I then stamped the leaves and the berries in Memento Tuxedo Black ink from the Poinsettia Petals set on white card stock and colored them with the Stampin Blends markers in Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler. They were also cut with the Poinsettia dies.
For the inside, I cut a piece of Old Olive at 4" by 5 1/4" and a piece of basic white at 3 7/8" by 5 1/8". I stamped the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals set in Cherry Cobbler ink.

My guests will be making this card next week for my November Christmas card class. Hope they love it!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on December 8th. Our theme will be “My Favorite Things” with our design team showcasing some of their favorite products from any catalog they choose.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.
