Wonderful Adventure In Foam And Fig

I really love foam and fig!
I mean the new Soft Sea Foam and Fresh Fig colors!
For my first class card for June, I used the Sea of Textures set
pairing these two great colors with some Tranquil Tide.
The new sea foam color is soft and almost more of a natural.
You can pop almost any color with it.
I started with it as my base and stamped in the same color the texture
stamp from the stamp set.
I stamped the sentiment from the set in Fig then started my scene.
I stamped Harry the Octopus in Fresh Fig and cut him out with the
matching dies.  I used the dies to cut a Crumb Cake net, a sea fan
in Tide and the sand dollar in Mint Macaron.
I layered these on a piece of Tranquil Textures DSP and some
Fig card stock
. I finished off by running some linen thread and tying it.

Hope you enjoy your day and thanks or stopping by!

PP395 Happy To Know You

I wish I had played more with the Tutti-fruitti DSP
but sometimes they retire too fast for me.
I like having new items but some things seem like they were not around long enough.
It really is true when we have the holiday or occasions catalogs.
By the time you collect what you want they retire. Before I
became a demo 7 yrs ago and started a blog 4 yrs ago,
I did not care about what is retired or not.
Now I try to use new current items on my blog, things one can go buy
right then.
I used both sides of the paper for this card.
I layered them on a white base and then stamped my
sentiment from Barn Door in Real Red on white.
I cut that out with my Layering Circle dies along with the
Night of Navy scallop circle.  I used my stitched circle for the
Lemon Lime Twist circle. A little Navy corduroy trim ribbon
and some Lemon Lime sequin to finish it off.

I like this sketch...hope you can play along over at

Fabfri138 Thanks For Reaching Out

I think I could use this set with any color combo!  Love it!
So I challenged myself for these pinks and love it!
I started with the white background and stamped the
net image in Powder Pink several times.
I then stamped the octopus-my friend Harry- in Flirty Flamingo.
I think he looks good in this color and will use it again in future.
I cut him out with matching dies long with the sand dollar
in melon Mambo, net in Sahara Sand and the
sea fans in Flirty and Pink.
I stamped the sentiment from the Sea of Textures set in Mambo
then set the scene.
I finished it off with the Sahara Sand card base.

I hope you have a fab day and
head over to

CTS273 Lakeside Thinking Of You

I first thought of the waves/water for the bottom.
I started with full Bermuda Bay ink on the bottom and
did not re ink as I went up for that gradual color.
I decided to add the boats stamped in Blueberry Bushel
and cut them out with the matching dies.
I also used the die to cut a sun with the Pineapple Punch card stock.
I finished it off with the sentiment stamped
in Blueberry and cut with the label die from the same set
called Lakeside framelits dies.  I added a glitter dot in blue for a little shimmer.

I hope it relaxes you and Happy Memorial Day to all!

FMS338 Simply The Best

I decided to go for my friend Linda Callahan's vase
sketch but with the shelf look.  I started with the DSP
called Tutti-Fruitti for my background layer.
I added it to the Tranquil Tide base.
I stamped the vases in Memento Tuxedo Black then stamped them with
Lemon lime twist ink before stamping my flowers in Tranquil Tide
and filling them in with Rich Razzleberry ink stamped off once.
I stamped the "shelf" in Tide and the sentiment in Real Red.
I finished it off with some Lemon lime Twist sequins.

I like the colors together and the freshness of this new set called
Varied Vases!  My upline, the amazing Mary Fish,
helped create this set after she achieved her 1 million in sales for
Stampin' Up!  So proud of her! And I think she is
SIMPLY THE BEST!

I hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by!

GDP139 Just A Note In Graceful Garden

Still using some of my retiring DSP like this one called
Petal Garden DSP. I layered two prints together...way to use it up!
I added those to the white base
after running some white organza ribbon around.
I stamped the rose from the matching set called Graceful Garden.
But I did grab another set for the sentiment called Flourishing Phrases.
Love the sentiments in that set!
Both were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a white stitiched
circle before I colored the rose in the Stampin Blends.
Some Old Olive and Calypso Coral
with a hint of Pineapple Punch in the center finish it off.

Hope you can play along over at

Embossed Dragonflies

I wanted to play with my new Big Shot embossing mats.
You can take dies like these dragonflies that die cut paper
and by using the mats you can make them emboss the paper.
It looks like it is an embossing folder instead of dies.
I ran them through with the mats and the piece of Marina Mist card stock.
I layered it on a piece of Flirty Flamingo and then a white base.
I stamped the sentiment from Petal Palette on a stitched white oval
and added some flamingo enamel shapes.
I cut a big dragonfly from the dies to pop up on the front.

I will have to go through more of my dies and see what is next!
Thanks for stopping by!

FF0008 Thinking Of You Flamingo

I stamped the images for the background on water color paper.
I stamped the leaves in the new Granny Apple Green and the
water in Coastal Cabana. I then sprayed the paper with water
and set aside to dry.  I did blot it after about 5 mins.
When all dry, I stamped the flamingo in Memento Tuxedo Black and
colored it with the Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride markers.
The sentiment also in black is from the Colorful Seasons set.
I added some glitter clear epoxy shapes in the water.
I finished by layering on a Coastal Cabana base.

Thinking Of You Rooted in Nature

I decided I need to use more of this DSP before it retires.
I used the True Gentleman DSP on the Very Vanilla base.
Before adding on on the base I ran some Navy trim around.
I stamped the wood piece from Rooted In Nature in Crumb Cake ink.
I stamped the sentiment also from the same set in Tranquil Tide
over it and cut it with a circle die.  I could have cut it by hand but
the circle looked better.
I layered it on a piece of Night of Navy
and added some gold enamel shapes to finish it off.
I like the masculine-ness of it.

PP384 A Colorful Just For You

Just trying to use up my DSP so grabbed more of the
Tutti-fruitti DSP and layered on the Bermuda Bay base.
I added a piece of Rich Razzleberry I ran through the
Big Shot with my Petal Burst embossing folder.
I stamped the flowers from Love What You Do set in
Bermuda Bay ink and the them layered some Razzleberry ink over
with a stamp from same set. The sentiment is from same set.
I cut it all out with the Layering Cicle framelits
and finished it off with some white organza ribbon and bow.

More Tutti-fruitti DSP!
I layered the apple print on Real Red
and then on another piece of the DSP in Lemon Lime Twist.
I added that to a piece of Whisper White and finally the Real Red base.
The sentiment is from Bubble Over stamped in Real Red
and punched out with a 1" circle punch and
layered on a 1 3/4" scallop circle.
I finished it off with some thick Whisper White twine.

CTS272 Wonderful Nature

I had the vision of doing the trees for this sketch but no idea about colors.
Went over to my friend Brian King's (stampwithbrian.com)
color combos on Pinterest and found the
perfect one with Mossy Meadow, Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake!
Thanks Brian, you always save me!

I stamped the double trees (they are one stamp) full on
Mossy Meadow ink on the bottom of the piece of Crumb Cake card stock.
I then went up from there without re inking my stamp so
to make it look like there is depth in my forest.
I stamped the double trees and a single tree and cut out with the
matching dies and popped them up.
I stamped the sentiment from the same set called Rooted In Nature
in Rich Razzleberry ink.
I layered the scene on a piece of Razzleberry and then the Mossy base.
I love how it turned out!

Great sketch!  I would never have thought of it but really like
this sketch and will use it again!
I am trying to use my DSP I have been hoarding like this one
called Tutti-fruitti DSP.
I layered the watermelon print with a red print on a
Whisper White base for the sketch.
I stamped the sentiment from Perennial Birthday in Real Red ink.
I layered it with Lemon Lime Twist cut with scallop circle and
a regular circle cut in Garden Green.
I added some adhesive-backed sequin in Lemon Lime to finish it off.

One Of A Kind In Coral

Love the Sea Of Textures set and since I had out my
Color Theory DSP I have been hoarding out for another project,
I decided to add my friend I have named Harry to the "ocean water."
I cut the DSP and added some Calypso Coral card stock on the sides
before layering on the white base.
I stamped Harry the octopus in Coral and cut him with the matching die.
I stamped the sentiment from the set on the banner and added the
Dapper Denim enamel dot.

I like the scene and might make a few more with Harry in different colors!

Thinking Of You On Lilypad Lake

I had some pieces cut from class a few weeks left over so
used them for another scene from Lilypad Lake bundle.
I cut the Soft Sky two  ore times from the original one cut
of the curvy water. I layered it on the Island Indigo base.
I stamped the lilypad, heron, and boats in Memento Tuxedo Black
and cut them with the matching dies called Lakeside framelits dies.
Same with the grass in Wild Wasbi card stock.
I colored the heron Smoky Slate, the lilypad with Flirty Flamingo
and Lemon lime Twist.  I added some Pool Party and Island Indigo on
the sail boats.
I colored the thinking of you part of the larger sentiment with my
Island Indigo marker on a white banner to finish my scene.

Be Calm Waterfront

I started with this DSP called Color Theory that I have used
almost none of from the spring catalog. The Crushed Curry gets lighter
from top to bottom.
I then thought of myWaterfront set sitting around wanting me to play with it!
I stamped the scene here and added the sentiment from Lilypad Lake set
stamped in Coastal Cabana on the DSP.
I added the image on the DSP and then all on a white base.
I finished it off with some glitter enamel dots in Curry.
I like the calmness of the scene but brightness of the yellow and blue.
I want to be in the Caribbean right now!

FabFri137 Perfect Birthday!

To use the lovely candles from the DSP,
I switched the sketch from top to bottom.
Love the Picture Perfect Party DSP but have hoarded it for months.
I added it to the Bermuda Bay base before adding the strip
of Berry Burst and the then the strip of Lemon Lime Twist
card stock i stamped with Bermuda Bay ink.
I used the Picture Perfect Birthday set for the sentiment
and the hand snipped bow stamped in Bermuda Bay and Pool Party inks.
On the Berry Berry card stock, I used an old scallop square punch to do the edge.
I finished it off with some Tutti-fruitti adhesive-backed sequins in Berry.

I went with the diagonal-Spring, Red, Die Cut.
I pulled out my Colorful Seasons set and the matching dies.
I stamped the branch an the sentiment in the new Gray Granite ink.
I added Poppy parade flowers along with a flower and chair die cut.
Love the gray and red together,
However, I started to put the card and realized I did not have
any Gray Granite card stock yet so I used Sahara Sand.
The background is embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

CTS271 Love What You Do

For this sketch, I thought about these flowers and again I left them
simple instead of colored in. I stamped the background in
Soft Sea Foam to give the wash look. I stamped the flowers and sentiment
all from the Love What You Do stamp set in
Memento Tuxedo Black. I layered the image piece of Tranquil Tide

GDP137 Be Calm

I am doing a little casing with my sketch from Linda Callahan.
So did a great job with this scene and so I took some element from her.
I started with the Large white oval.  I stamped some waves from the lovely
new stamp set called Lilypad Lake in Pool Party
then I took a piece of Pool Party card stock and did the same on it.
I stamped the two lily pads and the heron on white card stock and
cut them with matching dies.  I colored with my Melon Mambo
and Lemon Lime Twisty markers.  I used my Melon marker to color
on the sentiment just the two words I wanted to add to my scene.
I layered all on a Melon base and added some glitter dots to finish it off.

Fabfri136 Bubbles & Bottles!

I thought about this DSP and this set when I saw the colors
for the color challenge so went for it!
I stamped the bottles in Basic Gray and Bermuda Bay.
I laid them on a piece of the Bubbles & Fizz DSP retired from SAB this year.
I layered Basic Gray card stock behind then a Bermuda Bay base.
I stamped the sentiment in Bay on a white strip and layered it over the bottles.
I added some glimmer enamel shapes to the sentiment strip.
I then had to use the silver foil to cut some bottle tops...so cute!

Rooted in Nature with Fig and Grapefruit

I designed this card as I was playing around with what to do
for my classes this past week.  I decided not to use the
new Rooted In Nature bundle until later.
I stamped the tree on white card stock in Soft Suede and cut it
with the matching die. I placed it on a Crumb Cake stitched circle.
I layered some Fresh Fig card stock along with a strip of
Nature's Poem DSP in a Grapefruit Grove print.
I stamped the sentiment in Fig as well as the texture
from Timeless Textures set on the Crumb Cake background.
I placed all on a Fresh fig base.

Foil Boxes For Class

I made some open ended boxes for my classes this week.
I used the Foil Frenzy DSP which is thick and a kraft color
on the opposite side.
Perfect for boxes to hold cards from class.
I cut the 12' by 12' to 8.5" by 11" and scored on the
long side at 4.5" and 6.5" then scored on the short side at 2" and 6.5"
I cut the flaps and used scor tape to hold together.
I cut the butterfly from my Butterflies thinlits dies
with the Champagne foil paper and added to front.
