It's A Good Day!

This is the first card for my May card classes coming up in a week.
Been wanting to use the Hearth & Home die with the Happy Home set.
It did not make it into the  new 2016-2017 SU! catalog but it is really
great for watercoloring.

I choose to do a beach scene but will have some green out for those who
want a green hill instead!
I used water color paper and did some sky then some sea!
Love the way the scene turned out as well as the card!
Added some new Whisper White thick twine and the cute
It's A Good Day!

I hope you have a good day, too!

FMS224 Mother's Day Hummingbird and A Peak At Emerald Envy

I needed to make another Mother's Day card for my step mother
and knew I would use the hummingbird since she is crazy about them or any birds!
So this sketch fell at just the right time..exactly what I needed!
I stamped my winged friend in Mint Macaron, then his Rose Red chest was second.
I stamped off once with the new Emerald Envy and then full on with the fourth step.
He was hand snipped out and popped up with a dimensional.
You can see the Emerald Envy is used here for my sentiment at the bottom.
I also cut a little new DSP from the Playful Palette designer paper stack.
The roses were stamped in Pink Pirouette then Blushing Bride and last, Rose Red.

A few roses on the inside for color!
I hope you can play along with this great simple sketch
over at thepaperplayers.blogspot.com
this week!
Have a lovely Friday!

PPA298 My Mother's Day Card!

Well, I thought I took a photo of the inside of the card before I got it ready to mail,
but apparently I did not!
Inside, I had die cut a tea cup in the Wisteria Wonder heart DSP
and stamped cute hearts floating out of the cup
and the words Happy Mother's Day are on the cup from the
Circle of Spring set.
I did not do any stamping on the outside...wow, that
does not happen often!
I have been hoarding the little charms but finally used a spoon and
a lemon tied with twine.
My mom loves tea pot and I love purple...so it was a great combo!

GDP33 Anchors Ahoy!

I started with the anchors and punched out but not knowing what I would do with them!
I finally decided to go from top to bottom.
I stamped the Sahara Sand card stock with a few stamps
from The Open Sea retiring at end of May.
(No, it is not leaving my stash!)
I then thought it would be cool to make the anchors look like they were hanging.
I have had many requests for card bought from me
to have no sentiment on them so they can be used for any occasion.
This seem to be a great candidate for leaving off a sentiment.
I hope you can play along with the global-deign-project.com
color challenge this week!

PP292 Enjoy!

I really love this saying...bummed this set is retiring but there is another set in the new
catalog that starts June 1st with the same sentiment!
Thank you Stampin' Up!
I started with lots of DSP which did the work for me here.
The front subtle stripes give a little texture like effect
and I picked three strips of paper to coordinates together.
Very quick and easy card...yay!

Retiring Going Global Suite!

Yes, I love this suite and it is retiring at the end of May!
There is lots of black/blue in the DSP Going Places
which stand out but it does have Mossy Meadow
and Delightful Dijon also so I decided to design around those
 adding a little Lost Lagoon.
Love the "postcard" feel of the layout.
I hope you have a blessed Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Onstage Live In Salt Lake City

First, I want to say I only have one more week to go til
my college girl is home for the summer!
She has just the fall semester to go til grad in December!
So proud of her!

This past weekend I joined many demos and several of my stamping Pals in
Salt lake City for an Onstage Live event.  No one knew I was coming except my
friend Tricia and she was great at keeping the secret.
I surprised many who thought I was not coming and it was so fun to see their faces
but much more fun to hang with them for three days!

Here is my room...very comfortable!

PPA297 A Colorful Little Hello

I did some casing from the new catty with a stamp set I won
at Onstage Live this past weekend.
New stamp set is called Badges & Banners and it does have matching punches.
One for the banner and one for the badge.
One of my stamping groups challenged us to case from the new catty that demos were able to see
this week and will be getting out to our customers in mid May.  The ordering date is June 1st, 2016.
I was able to pre order a few items that came yesterday and will be showing them off soon!
Here I used a piece of specialty DSP that I could color in Wisteria Wonder with a sponge.
I hand cut the badge and the banner...thankfully they are easy!
Can't order punches until June so hoping it comes fast!
I used the colors from the challenge this week and like how it looks so soft!
I hope you can play with color challenge this week
over at palspaperarts.com

Swap Card Take Two

Here are the other two card front I designed for Onstage Live in SLC this weekend!
I used two different color combos but same design.
Top card I thought of my upline Mary Fish!  She loves black and pink together!
Bottom I had to use some purple...reached for my Elegant Eggplant and Crumb cake.
I love the Grateful Bunch set and the sentiment is that set!
Added a little texture to background with some Timeless Textures!
Hope you have a blessed Sunday!
I should be on my way home and share more this week!

I am getting my hands on the new SU! catalog which starts June 1st, 2016.
Also, getting to play with new products!

Paired it with some Calypso Coral and two of my fav sets...

Blessings From Heaven

I designed these cards and made 20 of them for my friend at Bible study
who wanted to send them to our greeters who served
this year as a thank you (which is what I stamped on the inside).
I used a set from a few years back called Blessings From Heaven for the sentiment.
However, the sentiment actually reads "you are such a blessing in my life".
I colored them with the Watermelon Wonder marker
so could just used the beginning of the sentiment for these cards.
The flower from Birthday Blooms was water colored with Old Olive and Blushing Bride
and then snipped out while I was watching TV.
Seems to be the only way I can hand snip a bunch of stuff!
Pool Party and Blushing Bride are the two card bases and work beautifully
with the Birthday Bouquet DSP.

Hope you have a lovely Friday and thanks for stopping by!

PPA296 Celebrate Today!

I freaked out when I saw the sketch
and had to come back several times to stare at it til something jumped out.
I finally grabbed my paper stacks and this was the first I put my hand on.
Have a Cuppa DSP paper stack has so many great prints it was hard to choose.
I love purple so I choose the hearts and then that is when I thought of the cup so
I went with the colorful cups print for the background.
I actually have not used the lemon yet so I knew it was time!
I grabbed the sentiment from Enjoy The Little Things
since it looked like a celebration with all the colors!

I thank you for stopping by today and hope you

GDP031 Thankful For You

I pull the sentiments all the time from this set when designing a card.
I love this one and the thinking of you one also.
But decided I had not played with the tree in a while so I decided to go green (and pink)!
I like this layout...all attention is on the image but just right amount for a sweet bow!
I hope you can play along with the nature theme over at

PP290 Missing You!

The first thing I thought of when I saw this color combo was these flowers
in the Number Of Years stamp set.
I guess because I remembered I could use several colors with these pieces.
It worked perfectly and I added some DSP from English Garden
and got to put my hands on some Pumpkin Pie
which I have not used in a very long time!
I grabbed the sentiment from Happy Home
and this card is going to my college girl I miss so!
She will be coming home on the 30th for the summer
with only one more semester to go to grad in December!
I added some texture by embossing the white with the Large Polka Dot
emboss folder!
