FMS121 Hello Dahlia!

I kind of froze when I saw this sketch and thought I would never come up with something. Then when I looked at the design teams creations it was so simple.  I had wanted to do this "double stamping" with this flower since first saw it in catalog.  I finally got the set last month and here was my chance to use it.  It is a simple card but soft.
I hope you have a wonderful Friday and great start to your Superbowl Weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!

Folded Frames in Modern Medley

Another Folded Frames technique card for you!  I mentioned earlier this week that I love the Modern Medley DSP.  Since I had it out, I used some on this card and it really looks great in a frame.  I love this design from the Happy Day set but never seem to use it either.  I thought it worked perfect for inside the frame.  Again the DSP is a 4 1/4" square folded and the inside vanilla card stock is cut at 2 7/8".
Have a fabulous Thursday and thanks for stopping by!

Folded Frames Peachy Keen

I introduced the Folded Frames Technique on Monday at stamp club.  Love the look of it and seeing both sides of the DSP.  Some DSP I like both sides and some I do not. This is from the paper stack Fresh Prints and both sides are cool!  I stamped off the heart from the Peachy Keen set in Coastal Cabana ink and then stamped it on the card stock to make it light before stamping the sentiment over in Real Red.
This card measures 4" square.  The technique requires a 4 1/4" square piece of DSP (double-sided).
I will have another card later to show this same technique with the image inside the frame!
Until then, have a wonderful Wednesday and thanks for stopping by!

Sleepy Owl

This Sleepy owl card is so cute.  Another demo (addinktivedesigns.blogspot.com) designed it and I wanted my stamp club to make them last night.  A few of the ladies like owls and birds so I hoped it would be a hit!
With the top note die and some punches...this sweet owl makes a real cute card for someone special.  It can also be used for different holidays like Valentine's or use some red/white/blue and put a little flag in his hand for a Happy Fourth of July!
Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

PP180 Hello, You!

Great Sketch from Ann Schach this week at Paper Players.  I had this card stock already cut from another project which helped me with color combo.  I just added the tag to the side and used my new set Regarding Dahlias stamp set.  I will send this one to my mom this week.  I have been using so much Crisp cantaloupe lately that I have just bought two more packs. It does go with so many colors/combos.
Have a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Stems In Red

I designed another card for my February card classes using some of my favorite DSP!  I love houndstooth and have wanted to make a card using more of this great DSP but I keep forgetting.  Probably because there have been so many great packs of designer paper lately, this one gets pushed back in my mind. I used the houndstooth emboss folder for even more texture.  The best part of using these flowers is they have a die cut and come out so beautiful! I used celebrate! for something different than happy birthday but could use many other sentiments even Sweet Valentine!
Hope you have a blessed Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

A Fishy Happy Birthday

I have been wanting to use the hardwood background stamp Occasions catalog.  I wanted to design a masculine card for my card class and turned to the By The Tide set.  I was not sure about a layout.  Banners are so in and I thought Marina Mist and Early Espresso would go well with the Crumb Cake.  I added some of the new chevron twill ribbon to the top to give it a finished look.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a fab weekend!

FMS120 Grateful Banner

This Sketch had an easy layout especially when we have banner dies to use!  I happen to have this card stock on my desk cut from another project so my color combo was easy.  I just could not figure out for a long time what I wanted to add on the banners.  I did not want to make it a Valentine so I did not want to do a heart.  My eye caught the Chalk Talk set and then it fell in place.  I will use this for a friend's birthday next month.
Have a wonderful Friday and a great start to your weekend!

PPA189 You're In My Thoughts

I really liked this sketch and wanted to play with my Simple Stems set again but with these flowers cut out.  I thought they would look great in Crisp Cantaloupe so went to my Sweet Sorbet DSP again. Love this designer paper and the color combos to work with.

You Don't Look Any Older

I started designing my cards for February's card class.  I saw my wonderful upline, Mary Fish, make a card this week for Mojo Mondays and wanted case it.  I knew I wanted to use the Decorative Dots emboss folder for more of the card.  I think this set will be great since my guest can pick from 4 great saying/sentiments to emboss with black emboss powder.  What I really liked on Mary'scard was the sliver foil behind the circle.  It makes it a little more special and the touch of rhinestones says "celebrate!"
The emboss folder, the stamp set and the DSP used here are all items you can earn free for this year's Sale-a-bration starting next week!  From Jan. 28th through March 31st, you earn a free item for every $50.00 in product you purchase.

PP179 Love You...to the Moon and Back!

I love to have a different type challenge other than color or sketch.  I immediately thought about my Hearts a Flutter set and the new Love You to the Moon set!
I placed the hearts on a block and got them straight and even and the inked with markers.  Punched the small heart out and added some bling.  I thought I would use the sentiment so I could color again with my markers and use two different colors.
Have a wonderful Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!

Golden Peachy Keen

I have been looking to play with this set and the dies that match for several weeks.  I just had to do the film reel in gold.  I like how the colors come together. SU! makes it easy with the DSP..never have to strain for a color combo!
I did want to mention my fondness for the Peachy Keen expression.  My maiden name is Keen and I have heard this expression all my life. Fun to have it in a stamp!
Enjoy your Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Blue

More watercoloring with blues today!  I was trying again to make a simple card to show off the watercoloring.  The blues are from top to bottom: Midnight Muse, Island Indigo, Marina Mist, Pool Party, Soft Sky and Smoky Slate (which is a gray but thought it would go well with the blues).  Sending this off to my mom today!

Watercolor

I wanted to play with some water colors and the watercolor paper this week.  I used my aqua painter and blended several colors together for the background.  I started at top with Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Crushed Curry and  Daffodil Delight.  Watercolor is fun and I like making my own background.  I think I will do this again soon will some blues.  I left the card without a sentiment on it to be used for any occasion.

FMS119 Happy Birthday Etcetera!

I love the angle on this sketch!  I had the pool party embossed already on my desk but had not used it yet for a project.  So I decided to use it and then look at the DSP that has Pool Party. Love this paper!  I really like the colors together.  I colored the butterfly with my Baked Brown Sugar marker and then dotted it with my Calypso Coral marker.

I hope you enjoy your Friday and the weekend!

Great simple sketch by Margaret Moody this week.  I just got Simple Stems in the mail and wanted to play.  I looked over to see next challenge and this set I thought would work well.  This set has two images (the one I used and another) that coordinate with the Secret Garden framelits dies.

In The Bag!

I decorated small bags this month for my card classes using the popular banners.  It helps a lot when you have some great banner framelits, too!  I decided on the DSP (which is retired) because I still lots of it and the button, too!  Very cute and could be used for any occasion or gender!  Hope you enjoy your Wednesday and thanks for stopping by!

PP178 Oh, Hello Colors!

Bright but happy colors for this week's Paper Players challenge!
I looked through sets as I thought about what has several elements and possibly a flower (my first thought when saw Primrose and Pear). I really love this set and have not used it probably since May 2013.  I started to emboss the Coastal Cabana card stock but liked the simple to highlight the oval with the chevrons!
I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!

Warm Blossoms Birthday Wishes

My last card for card class this week.  I wanted to have a card that could really be for any occasion.  I think roses (or flowers) fit that bill.  I used a wonderful birthday sentiment but could also do Valentine wishes, Sympathy, Hello, Thinking of You, Congratulations, etc. My guests for class make two of each card so they can make one that says birthday and one that says thank you or whatever their need is.
The color combo was easy.  My favorite color is purple. I used two shades here with Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.  Mostly, when I look at samples using this set, I see the roses stamped and then snipped out which is easy to do but wanted my guest to simply stamp without having to cut.  The emboss folder gives it much texture.
I hope you have a lovely Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Ballons!

I like to offer a masculine card for my card classes and I really like how this could be a masculine or kids card.  I do not pull out my Tempting Turquoise very often but really liking it with the black.  I started this card wanting to use the World Map background stamp and when I searched for cards using it, a great card by my friend Justin Krieger, a fellow demo, came up.  He did a different color combo and a square card.  The map is stamped in Smoky Slate which gives it this old look without even sponging or distressing anything.
Hope you have a blessed Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Sending Good Thoughts

Another card for my card classes this coming week.  I knew I wanted to make a card with the sentiment above and loved the idea of all the arrows with the "sending... your way".  Love the arrow embossing folder and the great texture it provides.  The arrow is part of the Peachy Keen set and has a matching set of dies (on Film framelits dies).   When looking through the Retro Fresh DSP, there were several great options that had arrows.  This was my favorite print.
Enjoy your Saturday and thanks for stopping by!

PPA187 You & Me

I still have a hard time with color challenges.  I am challenged when it comes to a sketch and I like when those are given to me!  This week I went to Mojo Mondays blog for a sketch since I liked the idea of the hearts for my card.   I have been wanting to use the You & Me stamp for a while so I knew i would on this card.  Glad I tried the heart in Soft Sky behind the words.  I like how it turned out.  Still digging the Fresh Prints paper stack but wish I had ordered two of them at same time.

Happy Thursday to you and thanks for stopping by!

Flowerfull Love You More

I love the set Love You More.  I can not recommend it enough!  It will be a set I will use many, many times over.  When I first saw it, I thought only of Valentine's day cards and projects.  That was great since I was going to need a new set for those.  However,  I have been able to see past the Valentine projects and have already used this set for other occasions.  For example, I used the globe for my husband's birthday card several weeks ago in December (12-10-13).  I also used it on last Friday for a color challenge (1-3-14).  The bird is super cute and I will use it for spring projects.

PP177 Love You More With A Clean Slate

This is great challenge I thought for the start of the new year!  I knew right away I would use the Love You More stamp and heart.  Part of my heart left on Sunday morning (the day I made this card) to go back up to Tallahassee to school.  I am so proud of my college girl and her first semester there was a great one.
But it is hard to say goodbye.  I was getting use to her being here for three weeks and I will not see her for about 4 weeks until I go up there to visit in February.  I have been sending her cards almost every week and she hangs them on her wall.  This card measures 4x4 and was so fast.  Love the chalkboard technique!

Black & Gold

I created this card for a gallery give away in my stamping group, The Pretty Pals.  This give away is a chance to win a 50.00 shopping spree of SU! products through my wonderful upline, Mary Fish by creating a card/project with bling!  Could be anything shiny like the gold sequins used here or the gold emboss powder or the gold ink or the new gold washi tape.  I had many choices which was overwhelming.  Then I thought about my UCF Knights winning big in their bowl game on Wed. night and the black and gold came easy!  This could be a great masculine card which I need several for some upcoming birthdays!

PPA186 Jan 2

Happy New Year to you!
I am trying to get my mojo going in my stamping space but it is taking a little while to find that groove.  I started with the PPA color challenge which I thought would come quick but it took a little longer than I intended as well. I do love this gold and silver vellum from the new spring or occasion catalog which starts---today!  January 3rd until the end of May we will have some new goodies to play with plus SU! keeps giving us new products every month that are not in the catalogs so there is always new goodies to help with staying fresh and creative!

A Note of Thanks

I received this great card from a Stampin' Pretty Pal, Ronna Butt.  She was so gracious to send me a marker in a color that I thought I owned but turned out that I did not.  It was no longer available in that color for individual purchase.  When I saw her post that she was wanting SU! fabric, I sent her all I had and she sent back a thank you card. I love those leaves and this color combo! I love when I can help another but so blessed to know I have ones to help me in turn..love my Pretty Pals Stampin' group.

I am back from my first MIA.  I did not have time to have projects ready to post before leaving after Christmas for a beach vacation.  I live in Florida and I am blessed to never be far from a beach.  I went an hour and a half up the road to Palm Coast Beach and had a fab getaway!  Actually a much needed getaway!

Happy New Year to you and yours and thanks for stopping by!
