FF0087 Set Sail Joy Fold

I am playing along with the challenge over at festivefridaychallenge.com picking sport (sailing), encouragement, and fancy fold. I made a Joy Fold card with Misty Moonlight base at 11" by 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2" then I cut the front panel in half. I added a piece of white card stock to the inside and then cut a white panel for the front half. I stamped the front panel in Misty Moonlight ink with the rope image several times from the Sailing Home set. I blended Coastal Cabana ink over with the blending brush.
Next, I cut a piece of So Saffron card stock at 3" by 7 1/12" and scored at 3 3/4". I added a white piece inside it and then glues to the inside of my base. I cut a rope from the Smooth Sailing dies in Misty Moonlight card stock to add. For the front of the So Saffron piece, I cut a white panel and made my sailing scene. I blended the Coastal Cabana ink on the bottom and the So Saffron top. I stamped the Misty Moonlight inked sentiment from same set. I also stamped the boats on white card stock and cut with matching dies.
Hope your day is smooth sailing and thanks for stopping by!

Pearlescent Shells

I love the Sand & Sea suite...all of it! However, the lovely Sand & Sea DSP will retire this week and I have been hoarding lots of it so needed to use some more today! I added a piece which is ombre with Flirty Flamingo and So Saffron to a Very Vanilla base. I then cut the pearlescent paper with the large shells die from Seaside Seashells dies then ran it through the matching embossing folder called Seashells 3D EF. Before all were attached a ran some Blushing Bride twine around and added a bow.
I then stamped the sentiment from Beauty Of Friendship set in Memento Tuxedo Black on a oval of the same designer paper punched with the Double Oval punch.

Hope you have a beautiful day and thanks for stopping by!

FMS491 Black & Bay Thanks

I wanted to use more of the True Love DSP which is in black and white before it retires this week. It was perfect for the sketch challenge over at frshlymadesketches.blogspot.com this week.  I love coloring the designer paper with the blending brush and here I could pick four prints and color two with Bermuda Bay ink. I cut the panels 4" by 1 1/4" and added to a piece of Basic Black card stock after blending ink on two and then added to the Bermuda Bay base.  I stamped the sentiment on white cards tock in Bermuda Bay ink from the Ornate Thanks set and cut it with the Ornate Layers dies. I layered it to a rectangle of Bermuda Bay card stock. I cut a Basic Black butterfly from Brilliant Wings dies. Added a blue rhinestone from the retired Peacock rhinestones for bling.

Hope you have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!

GDP297 Thank You Berries

My upline and friend Mary Fish over at stampinpretty.com had this sketch on her blog Wednesday and you can see her card here. I decided I would combine the color challenge over at global-design-project.com with it but when I sat down I knew I would grab the gingham print from the Pansy Petals DSP but not what set or sentiment I would use. I am glad I grabbed my berries from the Sweet Strawberry set since I have not used it in so long. I stamped the berries first in Blackberry Bliss ink on white card stock and then two stepped over to color in with Fresh Freesia ink. I then punched them out along with Pear Pizzazz stems with the Strawberry Builder punch which finally came back in stock recently! Yay!
I stamped the sentiment in Blackberry ink from the same set on a white banner strip and I added the bow with white twine I colored with my Fresh Freesia light Stampin Blend marker. I then cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock and ran it through the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and layered it on the Pansy Petals DSP and a Fresh Freesia base. I finished it off with a few small pearls. I really like how it turned out.
Hope you have a sweet weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Seashells For Friends

I love playing with the Sand & Sea suite and wanted to use more of this designer paper before it retires at the end of the month. I used a lovely print from the Sand & Sea DSP for my background and layered it on a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock and a Sahara Sand base. I then stamped several sand dollars from the Friends Are Like Seashells in Flirty Flamingo ink on Sahara Sand and then cut them out with the Seaside Seashell dies. I stamped the sentiment on a white stitched oval in Flirty Flamingo ink. I added a few opal rounds along with the linen trim bow.
I hope you have a awesome Thursday and thanks for stopping by!

I decided to play around with the new You're A Peach suite for the theme challenge over at thepaperplayers.blogspot.com I stamped the leaves in Old Olive ink and the peaches in Mango Melody with a little sponging with Calypso Coral ink on a white rectangle from the Sweet As A Peach set. The sentiment is from the same set stamped in Calypso Coral ink. I then layered it on a Calypso Coral piece of card stock cut with the Scalloped Contours dies. I then added to the piece of You're A Peach DSP. I ran a piece of retired Old Olive ribbon around before layering to the Old Olive base. I finished it off with some champagne rhinestones.

Succulents On My Mind

When I was water coloring several weeks ago, I pulled out the Simply Succulent set and stamped the pot as well as the large succulent image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on shimmer white card stock. I used the water painter to add colors first to the pot in Cinnamon Cider and then the succulent in Soft Succulent, Fresh Freesia, and Pale Papaya inks. I then cut them out with the matching dies called Potted Succulents dies. I added them to a piece of Very Vanilla cut with the Scalloped Contours dies. I stamped the sentiment from the same set in Memento and added some Opal Rounds for bling. I placed it on Fresh Freesia base to finish.
Hope you have a fab Tuesday!

Hydrangea Fat Bottomed Box

I am making one of Sam Hammond's aka Pootles' boxes today. You can see her box and video here
She did an awesome jungle cat box with the In The Wild suite. I decided to use some of my Hydrangea Hill DSP for my box. Super easy to make and attach. You can add candy or a small candle like a tea light or votive. I started with a piece of 6" by 12" piece of Hydrangea Hill DSP and scored it on the long side at 2 7/8", 5 3/4", 8 5/8" and 11 1/2".  I scored on the short side at 2". I then cut up to score line on the three panels to make the bottom. I attached the side with score tape and same for flaps on bottom. Then squeeze in side and tie the ribbon. I used a piece of the new Highland Heather 1/2" grosgrain ribbon. I then cut a Highland Heather detailed die from Encircled In Beauty dies and punched a white circle with my 1" circle punch. I stamped the sentiment from Shaded Summer set in Gorgeous Grape ink.

Hope you can make one soon.
Have a lovely Monday and thanks for stopping by!

GDP295 Friends Like You

This new bundle called Flowers Of Friendship came just in time to make this card for the theme over at global-design-project.com this week as well as a thank you for my friend Patti Carbonell. Patti loves blue and green together so I grabbed Just Jade along with Balmy Blue for this sweet card. I stamped the sentiment in Just Jade ink and the floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black from the Flowers Of Friendship set on a small white rectangle. I then colored the leaves with Just Jade Stampin Blends markers as well as the flowers in Balmy Blue. I ran a piece of Just Jade & gold 3/8" braided ribbon around a piece of Basic White and Balmy Blue card stocks before layering on a Just Jade base. I was tempted to put more bling on with some gems but I like the simple and clean look.
Hope you have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by!

I will be on Key West time starting this weekend for a much needed vacay! I will not be posting next week but back on June 21st so come back by!

Happy Father's Day From The 18th Hole

Showing off my Father's Day card I made my dad with the retired Country Club suite. I kept it because I knew I would make several more cards for my dad, brother and uncles who are big golfers. My dad loves three sports- football (he was a coach for many years), boxing (which he wished he did but loves to watch) and golf (he works at a golf course on weekends so he can play for free all week).
I did some casing of the layout from maecollins.blogspot.com I started with the Country Club designer paper first layering a gray print on a Basic Gray base. I then cut a colorful print and added some Garden Green behind for the middle of the card. I cut the white die in the middle from the Tasteful Labels dies and then cut garden Green grass 4 times to add with the Golf Club dies. I also cut the white gold ball with the dies and sponged a little Smoky Slate ink on. I added the wooden pieces in middle plus the wood shield at bottom. I stamped in Poppy Parade ink the sentiment from the Clubhouse set and cut with matching die to add on top. I also cut a Garden Green greenery piece.
Hope you have a beautiful day and thanks for stopping by!

You're Absolutely Amazing Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Fun Ways to Use Your Stampin’ Up! Products” where we show our favorite product tips. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

I am hopping along today to talk about heat embossing. I love to grab my heat tool and emboss but mostly I do it with sentiments like I did on the card above. Here I stamped the sentiment from Color & Contour stamp set in VersaMark ink and used my white emboss powder and heat tool to emboss on the stitched oval die cut from Evening Evergreen card stock. But I knew as soon as I saw the Daisy Garden background stamp, I would want to heat emboss it for an awesome background to my cards. I could have used the white emboss powder on a piece of the Pale Papaya card stock and it would have been fabulous.  However, I love to sponge and use the bending brushes so I grabbed my clear emboss powder and heat embossed it on the white card stock.  Yes, it is hard to see when embossing clear on white or white on white.  Have good lighting and watch for it to look wet as it heats.

Above you can see the blending over the image in Pale Papaya ink and those daisies suddenly pops off the page. I love the blending and it gives it a different feel. Sometimes we may have a color in the ink but not the card stock. We just make our own!

Here is another photo in a different light. To finished the card, I added the background to a Evening Evergreen base after I ran the same color 3/8" open weave ribbon around and popped up my sentiment. I finished it off with a few Evening Evergreen jewels for some bling.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on July 14th for “Wonderful Cards from the Garden” when our Design Team creates a project with flowers or scenes from the garden. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, have fun in your craft space.

I got so excited when I saw this large seahorse die in the new annual catalog! I LOVE seahorses! I cut this guy in the new in color shimmer vellum paper in Pale Papaya for Ann's theme over at thepaperplayers.blogspot.com this week.  I started the scene by blending some Pool Party ink on the white background with my blending brush. I then stamped the coral in Crumb Cake ink twice with the Sea Life set. I then stamped the sentiment in Calypso Coral ink from Friends Are Like Seashells set on a Pool Party die cut from Tasteful Labels dies. I cut the coral twice with  Calypso Coral card stock and the Seascape dies. I added some opal rounds gems. I layered it on a piece of Calypso Coral card stock and a Crumb Cake base.

Amazing Flamingo

I love flamingos and collect them on things. I have been happy we have had two flamingo sets in a row but this one is retiring at end of the month and I guess I will have to hold onto it since there is no other set to replace it. I love the bright paper behind my flamingo scene. I grabbed a fun stripe print from the host pack of designer paper called Pattern Party. I layered it on Flirty Flamingo base and cut a white panel to stamp my scene. I stamped the water in Pool Party ink and the grass in Granny Apple Green. I stamped the sentiment from the set Friendly Flamingo in Poppy Parade ink. I then stamped the flowers in Poppy on another piece of Basic White card stock along with my flamingo in Flirty Flamingo ink and cut them using the Flamingo dies. I popped them up on my scene.
